JIM is an exploration of grief through poetry, made up of reflections on my father’s death, the process of grieving, and growing up with these feelings. In particular, these poems explore the specific grief that comes with being trans and losing someone before transitioning. It often feels like the version of me that I am now is a completely different person than the little girl that my father knew, and many of the poems in this chapbook strive to reconcile these selves.
Join us at 2:30pm on Thursday, April 2nd for a launch event, hosted by the Queen's University Department of English Literature and Creative Writing, to celebrate the release of JIM. The event will be held in Mackintosh-Corry Hall (Room D216)
